My Blog Design

When I was trying to decide how I would design my blog I had no clue at first. I chose a couple different backgrounds to start off with but it was more random than strategic, or with reason. Then I came across the background with the colorful circles. This backgrond stood out to me because it was bright and I felt an energetic vibe from it. I thought if it caught my attention, it would also catch the attention of others that would look at my blog. I thought it was also perfect because the circles overlap and form different colors, or mixtures of colors and to me that reminded me of how in the world there are many people, and of those people no one person is plain, everyone has some part of them that is ordinary and a mixture of something else. From taking this class this year I hope to learn about race and gender in depth and learn about the different mixtures of people in the world.

  1. Tiffany, you are totally right. This is a great background, because it is very eye apealling and attractive. Your background causes a sense of calamity. Since you have no picture of yourself, your background dinstinguishes that you are a girl. Stay diesel...POPEYE!!!

  2. lol amen to what sean said. and I also agree the background has a very appealing look that draws in the reader of the blog. Your input about how the circles represent different people is very thoughtful because it is so true no one of us is a like just like your circles there are different colors and sizes.

  3. To add to the comments about the circles, I also like that the overlapping doesn't necessarily create the colors you might expect. I am looking specifically at the green and red that makes turquoise. Maybe this is what would really happen (I don't know enough about color) but it is not what I would expect. This happens all the time when we try and make assumptions about people because of their color or race, but the reality is much different.
